Application Engineer

Job
Summary:
The primary
responsibility of this position is to assist
sales personnel in managing the technical
aspects of the sales process directed primarily
at customers interested to use MATLAB and
Simulink for signal processing and embedded DSP
applications. The Application Engineer will need
to showcase MATLAB and Simulink capabilities in
signal processing, RF designs, communications,
as well as deployment and prototyping to
embedded DSP. Extensive knowledge in Texas
Instruments DSP and Xilinx or Altera FPGA
solutions would be an added advantage.
The Application Engineer is responsible for
demonstrating his/her knowledge during sales
meetings, conference calls, through the delivery
of public seminars, and in the development of
complex product demonstrations. This position
also requires the Application Engineer to work
with existing customers to answer their
technical queries and address technical issues
regarding the adoption and integration of MATLAB
& Simulink into their computing environment.
Responsibility:

Providing
technical pre-sales support and guidance to
sales personnel. Working as a team, the
Application Engineer assists the sales
personnel in understanding and synthesizing
customer requirements, then explaining the
features and capabilities of our products
relative to the customer's specific needs.

Preparing and
delivering product presentations to
customers and prospects. These are delivered
during customer meetings and marketing
seminars. These include, but are not limited
to live demonstrations of MATLAB/Simulink
and its Family of Products.

Developing
demonstration programs, application
examples, and simulations. These are
generally used to clearly demonstrate how
the capabilities of MATLAB/Simulink and its
Family of Products address the concerns of
our customers.

Analyzing customer
problem to recommend and demonstrate the
best computational approach. An Application
Engineer with a broad understanding across
engineering disciplines is viewed as having
exceptional value as our customers span a
broad range of industries, disciplines, and
applications.

Participating in
project-based work and jumpstart training to
accelerate customer adoption of MATLAB/Simulink
and its Family of Products.

Accountability of
project quality, timing and effort including
the submission of trip or engagement reports
as well as monthly activity reports.
Qualifications:
The candidate should
possess an excellent Engineering degree,
preferably in Electrical or Electronics
Engineering. Those with Masters or Ph.D degree
are highly encouraged to apply and will be
considered for senior position. Very strong
knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink is essential;
experience with broad range of MATLAB Family of
Products is an added bonus. The candidate should
also have a demonstrated ability to perform
computational analysis, modeling, and simulation
tasks.
The position requires high proficiency in the
delivery of presentation and excellent verbal
and written communication skills in English.
Candidates should be interested in working
directly with customers to help them understand
how to apply our products to their problems.
A minimum of two-year working experience as
Engineer or Researcher would be an added
advantage. Travel is generally throughout
Malaysia specific to various seminars, customer
visits, etc. The candidate should expect to
travel about 30-40% of the time with trips
generally no longer than three days.
